Frida R&D Collection

Research and development collection in preparation for Frida Kahlo inspired thesis. Exploring menswear tailoring through the iconic menswear looks of female artist, namely Patti Smith and Caroline de Maigret.

Wool coat with soft cashmere-like interfacing pieced on exterior evokes the rawness of Frida Kahlo, the originality and disregard for conventional notions of artistic sophistication. Lined with pale pink silk charmeuse.

The constructed garments pictured were photographed for a RISD "in-progress crit." Therefore, please note that construction of pictured garments is only 90%complete: closures are unfinished and  sleeve linings aren't attached, and body linings are only pinned in place. Closures on all jackets are fly-front style.
